What is housed there now?
As I understand it the original reading rooms is home to private club. Though I did read somewhere it had been refurbished in 2012 by a local museum trust, so it might not be.
Below in the colonades- alas – it has fallen foul to the usual commercialisation; housing a load of the usual high street shops found the world over.
At least individual shops are better than these ubiquitous supermarkets and mall developments.
