Weekly Photo Challenge: Scale

A little late to the game with this challenge. Visiting Nunton Cemetery, I came across these little grave stones. Not for children or pets, they are what the poorest of Victorian society used to mark their final resting place.

I showed them to Year 10; we’re doing Christmas Carol: just got to the graveyard scene.

There was a pause (the kind that implies either thinking, or trouble) then: “Who paid for Scrooge’s headstone, miss? Coz he’s too miserly to have even paid for one that size. Someone must have liked him, if he had a stone he could easily read.”

Think Year 10 have you there Mr Dickens! #rookieerror #plothole
